Black Gram Disease — Blackgram D3

  • Numerous spots with pale brown/grey centre and reddish/dark brown margin on leaves, branches and pods.
  • Defoliation during flower and pod formation.
  • Severe infection leads to premature senescence
  • Condiophores - long, multi septate, straight or slightly curved, light brown to brown
  • Conidia - sub hyaline or pale oliovaceous, multi septate or slightly curved with obconic base
  • Survival: Seed and infected plant debris
  • Spread: Wind-borne conidia
  • Humid weather
  • Drizzling
  • Dense plant population
  • Remove and burn infected plant debris
  • Spray any one of the following fungicides at initiation of disease and second spray at 10 days later.
