Management
Spray any one of the fungicides Carbendazim 500 g or Iprobenphos(IBP) @ 500 ml/ha. First spray immediately after noticing the symptoms. Second and third sprays at flowering stage at 15 days interval to control neck and finger infection. Foliar spray with Aureofungin sol 100 ppm at 50% earhead emergence followed by a second spray with Mancozeb 1000g/ha or Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 0.2% 10 days later
Management
Rogue out the affected plants. Spray any one of the insecticides like Methyl dematon 25EC 500 ml/ha on noticing symptoms and repeat twice if necessary at 20 days intervals for control of insect vectors

Mosaic : Potyvirus

Mottle streak : Nucleorhabdovirus Vector : Cicadulina bipuntella , C.chinai

  • Initial symptoms of mottle streak disease appear around 45 DAS in funnel leaves as small sparse chlorotic specks.
  • Later the specks coalesce leading to short streaks.
  • Yellowing of plants in severe infection.
  • Infected plants produce more of nodal branches and unproductive tillers.
  • Failure of earhead emergence with sparse grains are noticed during initial and late infection.
