Fallow Cropland left idle during the growing season. Forage Herbaceous plants or plant parts fed to domestic animals. Forestry The science, art, and practice of managing and protecting tree and forest resources for human benefit. Fallow land Land left unframed for one or more growing seasons to kill weeds make the soil richer. Farming system Farming system is an integrated approach to farming with several enterprises (e.g., rice cultivation, pisciculture, horticulture, poultry and cattle dairying), designed to be complementary to each other. A combination of one or more enterprises with cropping, when carefully chosen, planned and executed, gives greater dividends than a single enterprise, especially for small and marginal farmers. Field irrigation efficiency It is the ratio expressed in the percentage of irrigation water available for use of crops to that delivered to a field. Filler Any materials mixed with fertilizers for any purpose other than the addition of available nutrients, such as for conditioning to give anti-caking properties and for increasing the weight to bring the percentage of nutrients to desired values. Fodder crops The cultivated plant species that are utilized as livestock feed in the form of silage and hay. Foundation seed The second look in the certified seed chain produced from breeder seed and handled in such a way as to ensure genetic identity and varietal purity.
