Seed treatment
- In dormant cultivars, break the seed dormancy by soaking the seeds in equal volume of 200 ppm ethrel for 1 h.
- Harden the groundnut seeds by soaking the seeds in 0.5 % CaCl 2 (50 % seed volume) for 6 h (OR)
- Coat the seeds with TNAU Vidhai Amirtham @ 11 ml / kg of seeds.
- Treat the seeds with Carbendazim @ 2g/kg of seeds
- Treat the seeds with Trichoderma viride @ 4g/kg seeds (or)
- Seed treatment will protect the young seedlings from root-rot and collar rot infection
- Carrier Based Formulation: Treat the seeds required for one hectare with 1 kg each of biofertilizers viz., Rhizobium , and Phosphobacteria, using rice gruel, shade dry for 30 minutes before sowing.
- Liquid Formulation: Treat the seeds required for one hectare with 125 ml of each biofertilizers viz., Rhizobium , and Phosphobacteria, shade dry for 30 minutes before sowing.
Soil application:
- Carrier Based Formulation: Two kgs each biofertilizers viz ., Rhizobium , and Phosphobacteria with 25 kg of FYM and 25 kg of sand and broad cast uniformly at the time of last ploughing
- Liquid Formulation: 500 ml each of biofertilizers viz., Rhizobium , and Phosphobacteria with 25kg of FYM and 25kg of sand and broad cast uniformly at the time of last ploughing
- PPFM spray: Foliar spray @ 500 ml/ha of PPFM (Pink Pigmented Facultative Methylotroph) is recommended on 35 and 70 days after sowing.
SEED RATE
- Varieties: 120 kg/ha of kernels
Bold seeded varieties: 175 kg/ha of kernels
- Adopt 30 cm x 10 cm
If bud necrosis is prevalent, adopt 15 cm x 15 cm
- Dibble the seeds at 4 cm depth in adjacent/along with basal fertilizer applied row line/ zone
