Identification of the pest
Eggs: Laid on the stem. Grub: Globular head and elongated, dorso-ventrally flattened body without legs. Pupa: pupates in stem.
- Deep summer ploughing to exose the pupae to sun light and predation by birds.
- Use well decomposed organic manure.
- Destroy infested plant stems
