Symptoms of damage:

Symptoms of damage: Maggots feed on floral buds, leading to withering and dropping of buds. Formation of gall like structure in buds and do not develop into capsules. Pods completely distorted without seeds. Identification of the pest: Maggot: white and legless. Adult : Mosquito like fly Management: Intercrop with green gram, pearl millet and groundnut. Clip the galls and burn the fallen buds. Spray NSKE 5% or Neem oil 2% at bud initiation stage.
